Mortgage Rates Are At Record-Breaking Lows
On Thursday, January 19,2012, Freddie Mac released the results of its latest "Primary Mortgage Market Survey®," showing 30-year fixed mortgage rate easing down to a new all-time record low of 3.88%.
NOW!!! We can report that the average for the 30-year fixed mortgage rate has been below 4.00 percent for 10 consecutive weeks.
For the last 3- weeks, the rate is even lower than the January 19, 2012 record low. It is as of 2/16/2012 and for the 3 prior weeks of 3.87%. Last year at this time, the 30-year Fixed Rate Mortgage averaged 4.71 percent.
These rates are keeping homebuyer affordability is at an all-time high. The best selection of homes are available for the lowest prices, and we will probably won't ever see interest rates, and payments this low again.
