Why Invest in Las Cruces?

The natural beauty and splendor of the surrounding mountains, valley and Rio Grande River are enhanced by our beautiful year round weather, with 350-days of sunshine, mild winters, and refreshing summer evenings. Rainfall throughout the year is light. Snowfall is rare.

The people still have a warm and friendly small-town manner. Our city, and its economy are vibrant and growing. Las Cruces is the fastest growing city in New Mexico, and is the 11th fastest growth area in the nation with a current population of over 85,000 in the City and 185,000 when you include the surrounding Dona Ana County. In addition to the local residents, Las Cruces is the home of New Mexico State University with a student population of approximately 20,000 on a 6000-acre campus. New Mexico State University’s educational, cultural and athletic programs add significantly to life in our community. The economy is driven by agriculture, multiple aerospace companies, education, governmental, and medical facilities, as well as tourism, and winter “snowbirds.

”Las Cruces is a great place to live, work, retire, start a business, and raise children. More and more people from coast to coast know this, and are relocating here to take advantage of this."

This link is to a 3-minute video overview of Las Cruces and the various aspects of life in Las Cruces. It is worth the time to watch. It was made by Frank Borman, Astronaut, CEO Eastern Airlines, and now business owner, and resident of Las Cruces. ( Click Here )

You will find Las Cruces is a profitable place to invest because a few years back, Las Cruces began receiving nationwide recognition as “The Best" small metro area to do business (Forbes/Milken Institute), and the top area in the U.S. to retire by Money Magazine. Since then, the accolades keep coming. A list of the national publications that have recognized Las Cruces as one of the best relocation places in the country is found below.

Now the rest of the world has discovered what we've already known. The rewards of such distinctions can already be seen on our landscape. The number of custom homes built in the area continues to soar, and the Chamber of Commerce records new businesses opening almost weekly. New restaurants are popping up all over town. Change and growth seem to be the one thing that remains constant in our part of Southern New Mexico.

The following .pdf Adobe Document, is an “Analysis of the Residential Real Estate Market from 1999 through the end of 2006.” This is pure facts and figures, plus my analysis of the data. I know that this will be helpful in determining whether Las Cruces is a market you should invest in. I list the following “RECOGNITIONS” of Las Cruces only because they represent outside validation of the reason that over the last 5 years we have seen outstanding population growth, an influx of businesses, and an active Real Estate Market that is showing no signs of slowing down ( right up to and including this present month) as many other metropolitan areas are experiencing.
